Storage is one of the most critical components of a CaaS platform. Container-native storage exposes the underlying storage services to containers and microservices.

In this lesson, we will explore running Ceph storage in Kubernetes using popular open-source projects like Rook. We will explain the architecture of a Ceph cluster run through Rook and the Kubernetes native integration.

During that flexvolume and CSI are talked about to show the possibilities for consuming storage for applications. As a demonstration for the reliability and ease of use of a Rook Ceph cluster, a WordPress and MySQL will be brought up.
With that WordPress and MySQL example, the Kubernetes PersistentVolumeClaims are shown and also that if a node is down the data is still available.
